Step 1: Bring Your Insurance ID card
Login to your GSP account and print your Insurance ID Card. Always present your Insurance ID Card to your Doctor or Hospital so they can submit your claim directly to us.
Step 2: Visit your Student Health Center or an Aetna® Preferred Provider
If you are sick or injured, please visit the Student Health Service first. If not available, proceed to an Aetna® Preferred Provider Network in your area. We encourage students to use an Aetna® Preferred Provider whenever possible for two reasons:

1) They have a contract to bill us directly for services so you don't have to pay out of pocket and then file a claim yourself;

2) They have agreed to contracted pricing for covered medical expense, which means your medical cost and charges are kept as low as possible and never exceed the set price in which providers can accept as payment.
If you visit an Out-of-Network Doctor or Hospital, ask if they can submit claims on your behalf. If they cannot, you will be required to pay for your medical bills during your visit. Afterwards, seek reimbursement by filing a claim. Simply download a Claim Form, Complete, and Sign then include a copy of your ID Card with your medical bills or receipts. Here are three (3) easy ways to submit claims:

Claim Forms must be submitted within 180 days of the date of service.

Step 3: Check Your Claim Status
If you would like to check on the status of a claim that you or a provider have submitted, please send an email to or call 1-866-914-5333, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Prescription Claim Information
For Bronze and Silver Plan, you need to pay out of pocket for your prescriptions and then submit a Prescription Claim Form for reimbursement. You should present your GSP ID card at any CVS/Caremark pharmacy and a special discount will be applied. Remember to include all the receipts with the Prescription Claim Form and email to or mail to:

For Gold and Platinum Plan, the pharmacy benefit is direct-bill with CVS/CareMark pharmacy. This means the CVS will bill us directly so you don’t need to pay upfront. Be sure to present your GSP ID Card when you visit CVS.
